Who is our client?
They are one of the largest German manufacturers of customised playgrounds made of acacia wood and metal elements. The company is known for the unique design of their playgrounds which are very distinctive from those of their competition. They successfully sell their products not only in Europe, but also on several other continents.
The client’s problem
The company had its own metal production department, but due to the rapid growth of sales, a large number of orders and the desire to focus on the production of new prototype solutions, it was forced to outsource repetitive products from its standard (serial) offer. As we are a plant specialising in the production of metal playground equipment according to the EN-1176 standard, they reached out to us.
The beginning and course of cooperation
As always, we met with the client to discuss general expectations for the cooperation, its scope and our production capabilities. After receiving the technical documentation, we started analysing it. Then, for individual products, we made calculations, determined logistical minimums, approximate lead times and proposed final prices. After more discussions, the client accepted our proposals and selected the products whose manufacture they would like to oursource to us. Logistical issues were clarified and the first orders began to be processed.
At the moment, this is our regular customer, and the range of products we manufacture for them is gradually increasing. Our construction department plays a very important role here – they’re in close contact with the client’s constructors and they monitor technical issues on an ongoing basis, primarily focusing on compliance with the EN-1176 standard.
Summary
Beginning cooperation with our company gave the client the opportunity to increase sales and expand its offer even further, as well as to maintain its production capacity without compromising the production of standard products. As an additional comfort, the customer emphasizes the awareness that we are a company strictly in the playground industry, where production issues in the sense of compliance with specific standards are very important, because it is primarily about the safety of children.
